Linda is picking up speed in the Laikaverse

Do you know the feeling of being hungry for new adventures, but not knowing where to start? That was my story.

After some years on parental leave, I knew it was time to start again. I had an overwhelming desire to push myself—something challenging, demanding, and enjoyable at the same time. Going back to my old job was not a possibility for me, so I was stuck in the middle, not quite sure how to start again. That's when Laika found me.

My dearest friend and longtime Space Dog, Fatma, told me that if I was searching for a new job after my parental leave, Laika would be a good fit. As Ela, Laika's space captain, is always open-minded to remote working and different working times, I took a chance and reached out to her. And what can I say? It fits really well. Now I'm a Laika Space Dog and so darn ready for it.

Going after my passion has gone well so far

After I did my apprenticeship at an advertising agency, I realized that this wouldn't be my career. So I decided to go after my passion: writing. I studied German studies with comparative literature and cultural studies (long name—I know) and psychology. Besides that, I always worked in journalism departments, such as online publications, radio, etc., so I knew I would like to do something with writing. After some time at a communications agency in Leipzig, I became a mom, and we moved to Hannover. That was the point when I decided that a remote job would be the perfect fit for me. As we didn't know then where the future would take us, it wasn't the right decision to search for a location-dependent job. Despite the remote working environment at Laika, I'm really enjoying being close to my colleagues and having meaningful connections. I never feel alone at Laika. If I start to, I simply start a huddle to have a chat on Slack. How cool is it that I can always drive to Berlin if I want to come to the spaceship in person?

New adventures in the Laikaverse

Now I'm throwing all my creativity and writing skills into the Laikaverse, mainly producing content. Bringing words onto paper always brings me joy, and I'm happy to make our clients' stories more visible to the world. As I'm always hungry to learn, I'm excited to see where my journey will take me. I'm grateful Laika found me (big thank you to Fatma) because now I'm working independently with people that have the same values as me. Laika gave me the chance to start again, and now I'm gaining traction and speed, so that I can conquer the Laikaverse!
