Ever wished your beloved canine companion could talk to you? That you could truly understand their barks? This revolutionary technology is finally at our disposal thanks to BarkGPT. With its advanced natural language processing and machine learning capabilities, BarkGPT has elevated pet communication to a whole new level, enabling dog owners to effectively understand their furry best friends. We're thrilled to announce that we’re joining forces with BarkGPT—supporting them on this out-of-this-world journey to raise brand awareness of this young tech start-up in the DACH region.

Raising the woof: taking dog communication to new heights

BarkGPT’s mission is to elevate the bond between humans and their canine companions by transforming communication through AI, and their vision is to lead the way in canine AI technology to foster happier, healthier, and more fulfilling relationships between dogs and their owners. BarkGPT is a never-before-seen web and app-based tool that uses natural language processing and machine learning to translate recordings of a dog's barks into human language. Dog owners simply record their pet barking, upload the recording to the BarkGPT website or app, and the machine learning algorithm analyzes the barks and immediately provides the translation in text. Founded in Boston, in 2022, the young start-up’s product utilizes and integrates OpenAI language models and advanced natural language processing capabilities.

From tail-wagging determination to innovation

BarkGPT founder and CEO, Alexandra Setter, always loved dogs, and was fascinated by their behavior. As a professional dog walker—putting herself through college and grad school, she spent hours observing and interacting with dogs, constantly attempting to decipher their barks and body language. After studying computer science and natural language processing at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and while studying artificial intelligence and machine-learning at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Alexandra was determined to find a solution to translate barking. After countless hours of research, and experimenting with machine learning algorithms, she developed the prototype for BarkGPT while she was still working on her doctorate at MIT. With the support of a small team of developers and investors, Alexandra launched the web and app based tool, BarkGPT at the end of last year. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with dog owners across the U.S. eager to try out the new technology. BarkGPT is now committed to expanding its reach, and brand visibility in the DACH region.

Alexandra Setter states, “Combining my love for dogs and passion for technology, I am proud to have created BarkGPT. Developing the machine learning algorithm for BarkGPT was an incredibly challenging process for our team, that required a significant amount of time, effort, and expertise. However, despite all the challenges, the satisfaction of seeing the impact BarkGPT has on the lives of dogs and their owners makes it all worth it. We remain dedicated to improving communication and strengthening the bond between dogs and humans.”

The fetching benefits of BarkGPT: Dog owners are pawsitively impressed

It’s no secret that Laika Space Dogs are pup-sessed about our furry four legged friends. Our crew jumped at the chance to better understand our pets' needs and desires, by trying out our new client's products. Our founder and space captain, Michaela Krause, eagerly took on the challenge of recording Zelda, our VP of Happiness, barking in various situations. After uploading the barking to the BarkGPT app for translation, the algorithms instantly provided Zelda’'s “barklations”: "I'm hungry! Feed me human!” and "Why don’t you go run after that stick!?”

Ruffing up to the stars together

The Laika crew is over the moon to support BarkGPT, with their aim to increase visibility, awareness, and brand recognition in the DACH market. BarkGPT definitely enables Laika to communicate the technologies, minds and ideas of tomorrow. We're genuinely excited to embrace this opportunity, as we apply our PR & comms expertise and experience. With a track record of working with clients like Kurgo and Lassie, we're eager to make a positive impact. As of April 2023, we are responsible for developing and executing BarkGPT's PR strategy, as well as serving as their point of contact within the DACH market.

We look forward to supporting BarkGPT in becoming the leader of the pack in natural language processing and machine learning technology for AI dog translation, and to boldly go where no dog has gone before!

***UPDATE***

As much as we would love for this to be a live product, this is an April Fool’s prank, created with love by the Laika Space Dogs. If you appreciate our work on this, be sure to follow our channels and even send us a paw five!

And while Alexandra Setter (real name Khadijah Gray) may not have founded BarkGPT, Khadijah absolutely loves dogs, and is actually a professional dog-carer. Check out her Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/tier_tante.
