Breslau - a little winter journey

Slowly becoming a Laika tradition: The annual Christmas photoshoot in front of graffiti.

Slowly becoming a Laika tradition: The annual Christmas photoshoot in front of graffiti.

What is better than celebrating the first week of the last month of the year with a little Christmas trip via the “Culture train” to Breslau in Poland- and taking the trip joined by a wild bunch of PR consultants from Laika and a backpack full of first grade Cremant. Because it’s always good to get a little ‘‘inspired’’ before you start contemplating over the past year.

This year was quite the ride and just before the last stop of this year’s journey, two new members joined our “pack” for the last sprint before Christmas which now makes us a team of twelve!

And of course, we took them with us to Breslau for the weekend to enjoy the beautiful city, the famous Christmas market and the great local breweries all together.

It’s also a great opportunity to refresh the team and to get to know each other a notch faster than usual.

Breslau is a great city to relax and charge up for the next challenges awaiting us. While there, we used the opportunity to visit Breslau's fascinating Hydropolis, which is a great multimedia center about all things water. It’s a beautiful space full of interactive installations and impressive replicas teaching us about the most important element on the planet (if not in the universe). Filled with new inspirations, we used our time to stroll through the beautiful historic district of Breslau. And of course, we enjoyed mulled wine at the huge Christmas market in the company of thousands visiting from all over the world.

Last but not least, you can’t leave Breslau without having the national dish of Pierogi at a local marketplace, filled with post-soviet charm. And for the grand finale (and for the last sprint of the year), we enjoyed the local spa and water slides of Breslau.

Nothing beats the time when you travel with your team to share new experiences together while enjoying each other’s company. A strong foundation for challenges to come.  We are ready.

PS: Last Christmas we’ve only just started out as a trio. Can you believe that? You can read about our Xmas trip adventures from one year ago here
